We not only toss the scraps, peels, and seeds of common ingredients. We waste entirely "edible" ingredients typically bought in bunches, but used only in small amounts: like celery and herbs. In this demonstration, I'll showcase "A Many Herb Salad" and a "Whole Celery Salad with Peaches and Buttermilk Dressing," two recipes that leave us with delicious dishes, no excess, and zero waste. 4pm: Minimalism for Maximalists with Corinne Loperfido 
A talk on reducing your stuff, reducing your impact, and only having things in your life that you need, love, and use often. Corinne Loperfido has been living a zero waste lifestyle for 1.5 years, and travels in her van for half the year, and will be sharing her wisdom on minimizing, living with less, and making the most of the least. 6pm: Fungi Are The Future: How Mushrooms Will Save Our World with Craig Trester 
Fungi are the keystone species that interconnect every facet of life in our world. This talk, by Mycologist Craig Trester, will highlight the supreme influence these ancient and often overlooked organisms have upon our health, society, environment and also provide a succinct peek into the Fungal Queendom from the perspectives of ecology, anthropology, pharmacology, and bioremediation. The talk will also feature a brief workshop component that teaches attendees how to perform low tech and low cost mushroom cultivation techniques that can be replicated at home with upcycled materials. Participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable container or an upcycled plastic one to house the mycelial culture they will take home from the workshop. Cardboard, paper, and cellulose based packaging materials or food containers can also be brought as an effective upcycled substrate that can be used to feed your culture of mycelium. Learn from their experience about how they are rethinking packaging, what kinds of challenges they face, and creative solutions you might apply to your business to eliminate toxic plastics and unnecessary packaging.

@nateandhila (formerly Killin H8) are a duo of emcees / performance artists who combine hip-hop, comedy and philosophy to advance social consciousness. Their main areas of focus are Ecology and Sex Positivity -- they invite you to think, laugh, and booty-shake your way into actively loving your planet, and your self. If you've ever yearned for high-concept raps about bee and plant reproduction, composting, zero-waste and species diversity (who hasn't?), then these are the clownish, contemplative rappers you need in your life.

All day: Clothing Swap
Bring your used clothing, accessories, shoes, bags, jewelry, hats, and scarves to the clothing swap! There will be a community free pile of unwanted clothes available to everyone who comes, even if you dont bring anything to swap. Why throw something away or give it to the thrift when there is someone out there who might love it? Bring your unwanted tshirts and other cotton clothes and learn how to make them into cloth produce bags, pee rags, cloth tissues, and other upcycled items to help you live a better zero waste life and use what you already have. All leftover good will be donated.
All Day : Basic Hand & Machine Sewing
Jessica Rowell will help you to learn how to mend your own clothes, patch your own holes, sew back on your own buttons, and even make a cloth produce bag from your used t-shirts. Bring an item you want to fix and come learn some easy mending techniques for keeping clothes for much longer than the fashion industry would want us to.
All Day: Book Swap
One woman's trashy novel is another woman's treasure! Bring some books, take some books, and you'll have reading for the rest of the summer for free.
